Auto-Biography

My name is Saad Saeed and I grew up in Elmhurst, NY. I was born in Lahore, Pakistan on September 12th, 1979. One month later I came to the United States and have lived in NY ever since. I went to Aviation High School, where I obtained FAA Airframe and Powerplant licenses. These licenses had propelled me into a career of Aviation/Aerospace. I was on the fast track at the age of 17. Although, having mastered the field to a certain extent or to a point where I could land a job with an Airline, I wasn't satisfied intellectually. I wanted expand my knowledge base and so I enrolled in college. I attended CCNY and majored in Computer Science. I graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science and was on my way. I started my career in Information Technology.

I am currently employed within the FIX Engineering team at Credit Suisse. Overall I have five years of IT/Engineering/Support work experience within the Financial Sector under my belt. I have worked on a vast array of technologies. I'm a user and a avid fan of the Linux OS.  People always ask me whether I like administerting Linux over Windows over vice-versa? Windows has no doubt a large percentage of the market and you're almost forced to know it if you like or not.  I think you can really measure your IT skill level in a Linux environment.   The Windows platform can be taught to a monkey.  Monkey click this, Monkey Click that:) Unlike Windows, Linux can be learned from its very core - the kernel.  It's more customizable and you can go as far as your imagination takes you. I also don't need to worry about about the GUI freezing up and for the most part you need not worry about system attacks (i.e. viruses, trojans,etc.). It's also FREE! Hooray! Open-source forever!
